Celebrate 100 years of jazz with the West Chester University Criterions Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jonathan Ragonese, at Rivet in Pottstown on Wednesday, September 16th!
This FREE concert features one of the nation’s longest-running university jazz ensembles, whose history dates back to the 1920s and which now serves as the heart of the Jazz Studies program at West Chester University’s Wells School of Music.
The performance is part of the fifth annual Montco Jazz Fest, taking place throughout Montgomery County through September 15–20. This year’s milestone festival celebrates the 100th birthdays of jazz icons including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Tony Bennett while bringing together celebrated musicians and rising talent for six days of live music.
Join us for this special celebration of jazz history, performance, and the musicians carrying its legacy forward. Admission is FREE, and advance registration is encouraged!

Dinner & Drinks
🥗 Dinner entrees will be available throughout the night, with everything from quick bites and full entrees to desserts. Our rotating menu offers freshly made selections such as sliders with seasoned tots, wings, pasta, salads, steak bites, grazing plates, and more.
🍹 Our bar serves specialty drinks, local brews, and other refreshments. Guests must be 21 or older with a valid ID to order age-restricted drinks.
🪑 Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Arrive early to choose your preferred seat!
About The Band & Montco Jazz Fest
The Criterions are directed by Jonathan Ragonese, Director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Saxophone at the Wells School of Music. An accomplished composer, arranger, and saxophonist, Ragonese has performed with artists including Steve Wilson, David Liebman, Jon Faddis, and Tim Warfield, with compositions commissioned by organizations including Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Harrisburg Symphony.
